30,000 Performances: Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap Sets World Record

The legendary play The Mousetrap by Agatha Christie has reached an extraordinary milestone—30,000 performances at London’s St. Martin’s Theatre. Guinness World Records marked the occasion by presenting the cast with a certificate for the record title longest theatrical run.

Since its premiere in 1952, the play has continued to captivate audiences from around the world. With its mysterious atmosphere and intricate plot, The Mousetrap has kept viewers on the edge of their seats for more than 70 years.

To celebrate this remarkable occasion, a special daytime performance was held for schoolchildren, where over 400 kids from across London had the chance to see the play live.

Great news for theatre lovers: The Mousetrap will now run at least until the spring of 2026, and tickets are already available. The Mousetrap is a true cultural phenomenon, demonstrating how a work of art can remain relevant and compelling for decades.
