International mathematical olympiad “The Tournament of Towns” – Spring Round – Advanced Level

International mathematical olympiad for school children aged 13 to 18 – The Tournament of Towns. It has taken place every year since 1980 and has two rounds, one in the Autumn and one in Spring, both with two levels.

Children from more than 100 cities in over 25 countries take part in the tournament each year!

Children that participated in the Tournament produced brilliant results in October last year and the London School of Mathematics and Programming  looks forward to London taking a strong position in the world ranking of cities in 2019.

The Tournament of Towns differs from many other competitions through its philosophy of having the contestant rely far more upon ingenuity than their rote learning. It also allows participants to select the problems they prefer and for each paper the participant’s score is the sum of his or her three best answers.

Pupils whose performance is outstanding will receive an invitation to the famous Annual International Mathematics Tournament of Towns Summer Conference where over several days they will participate in team research projects comprising a sequence of related problems.
