Shostakovich and Sibelius with conductor Tito Munoz

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, led by American conductor Tito Munoz, will perform Shostakovich’s “Symphony No.9“, Grieg’s “Wedding Day in Trollhaugen“ and Moberg’s Suite “Sunrise“, and Italian violinist Francesca Dego will solo in Sibelius’ “Violin Concerto“.

In Shostakovich’s symphony, according to the author’s idea, you can hear the trampling of steel-shod boots, and the crying of a besieged city. Moberg creates a musical landscape of the northern sun, and Grieg presents, one might say, his own version of the wedding march, only in the magic kingdom. Further, Tito Munoz’s dynamic conducting is combined with the sensual playing of a star violinist in an insanely romantic Sibelius concert.
